A Video and Audio Conferencing System
Bringing Multiple Platforms Together
BlueJeans is a communication gateway that brings together people using disparate communication systems into a single meeting. Supported systems include:
- Dedicated Video Conferencing systems
- Microsoft Lync
- Google Video Chat
- and others
BlueJeans is available for department members that need to bring people together form various regions into a single meeting, especially when not all (or any) participants have access to a dedicated video conferencing system. This system would allow, for example, a meeting between three people where two are using Skype and one is using Google Video Chat.
How Do I Schedule a BlueJeans Meeting?
Setting up a BlueJeans meeting is easy. Just email the following information to email@example.com:
- A short title for your meeting (e.g., "McDonald Lab Meeting - July 13")
- The date of your meeting
- The start and end times for your meeting
- The email addresses of the participants in your meeting (this can be an email list)
You will recieve a confirmation email from one of the IT staff stating that your meeting has been booked. Before the meeting date, all of the participants for which you've supplied email addresses will receive a message from BlueJeans, which will contain a Meeting ID and instructions on how to connect from the various supported platforms.
On the meeting date at the specificed time, simply follow the connection instructions in the message you recevied from BlueJeans.
It's that simple.
